Blossoming Cherry for The Paper Players!

Hello friends, I hope you are staying safe and well!  It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players.  It's Tic-Tac-Toe week and the lovely Joanne is hosting.  She's offered lots of great choices to spark your creative energy!

I'm also joining up with the make your mark challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More, and the anything goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

I love Tic-Tac-Toe challenges because they definitely help when my mojo is lagging.  I chose the left column elements (ribbon, die-cut and pink) for my card. I had this lovely Power Poppy digi image printed and ready to go, and what's better for pink than cherry blossoms?

I started by coloring the background in my lightest blue Copic marker, then worked on the cherry blossoms in the pinks.  There are definitely a lot of blossoms to color in this piece but it was rather meditative and I enjoyed the process.  When the coloring was complete I trimmed down the panel to fit on the white die cut scallop rectangle.  Before doing so I used my Misti to help align and stamp the sentiment on the colored panel.

Sorting through options of neutral card bases, Fog ended up working the best.  A separate A2 panel of Fog card was stamped with a woodgrain background stamp in the same color of ink for a suble tone-on-tone look, then wrapped with a piece of ribbon and added to the base.  After adhering the main image to the card base with some fun foam, a few jewels were added for that little bit of sparkle!

Thanks so much for visiting, I really appreciate it!  I hope you have a good week and stay well!

Stef
