More Than Coffee for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Hello there, I hope you're doing well!  It's time for a new Tic Tac Toe Challenge and this week Tenia has given us this fun board to spark our imagination and creativity!

For my card I used Julee's fabulous Mojo Monday Sketch.

I have to admit that I struggled with this Tic Tac Toe board a bit at first but came up with a fun solution using an older Hero Arts My Monthly Hero card kit from August 2018.  Julee's sketch certainly helped inspire me as well!

I ended up going down the left row (rainbow, purple coffee) and used a couple different patterned papers from my stash.  The cup and foam were stamped and colored with Copic markers then die cut with matching dies.  The purple plaid was trimmed down and added directly to the card base.  For the large square the rainbow paper was matted on a white panel then foam tape was used to add it to the base.

The small square was die cut from white and with a smaller square die, from a scrap of the plaid paper.  The square dies create a thin frame, so the purple plaid frame was adhered on the white square then the coffee and rainbow foam were popped up on foam tape (please ignore that the foam was adhered slightly askew - had to be the sloppy barista lol!).  The sentiment is from the same card kit and was die cut with a circle die and added to the card.  An aqua shimmer pen applied some sparkle to the foam and a few clear dew drops were added to finish things off.

Be sure to use the link above to see all the fun cards by the other DT members and hopefully join us this week!

L' Artiste for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Hello, friends!  I hope this finds you doing well.  It's time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge!  This week, Jeanne is hosting and she has give us a clever board for a fun time creating.

For my card I went up the diagonal left to right - colored/pencils, dots, vellum.  I used Julee's fabulous Mojo sketch for a mini-slimline card (be sure to use the link below to check out her darling card!).

In a recent order from Colorado Craft Company, I received the most darling free gift of an Anita Jeram mini stamp and thought it worked perfectly with the sketch and for the Tic Tac Toe challenge as well.

So cute!  I began by stamping L'Artiste in black pigment ink on Stonehenge drawing paper and colored her with Polychromos colored pencils.  I still have a lot of work to do to improve my skills, trying to find the balance for enough versus too much contrast.  Still, I think it's a sweet image.  Once the coloring was complete I used a square die to cut it out, then mounted it on a larger square cut from Melon Mambo.  The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of Ivory card stock then cut out with a circle die and eventually layered on a same size circle of Melon Mambo.

To create the mini-slimline card base, a piece of Ivory cardstock was cut to 6 x 6.5" and scored at 3.25", with the final size of 3.25 x 6" card.  Next a layer of striped patter paper was trimmed down to leave a nice border around it.  Before adding to the card base, I adhered a panel of polka dot embossed vellum. I layered a large sheet of vellum on an adhesive sheet then trimmed out the size I needed and embossed it.  Using the adhesive sheet hides the adhesive and adds it securely to the project.  The scalloped horizontal piece was adhered and a hemp twine bow wrapped and tied around it.  The section was then added to the base with foam tape, then finally the main image and sentiment added.  My teenage granddaughter is a budding artist, so this card will be heading off to her.

Thanks so much for visiting, I always appreciate it!  Please be sure to use the link above to check out all the fabulous cards by the other DT members and hopefully you are inspired to join us this week!

Thinking of You

Hello friends, I hope you are doing well, staying safe and healthy!  I have a card to share with you that is for the current Mojo Monday challenge.

I'm also joining the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where the theme this week is Anything Goes.

I'm really looking forward to Fall, which is my favorite season of the year.  One of my favorite plants that grow in late summer and stick around during Fall are Chinese Lanterns.  Earlier this year I purchased this stamp set when it when on sale, knowing I would enjoy using it come the change in season.

The image and sentiment were stamped with Copic friendly brown ink and the lanterns and leaves colored with a variety of Copic markers.  When complete it was die cut and adhered to a slightly larger circle of Bumblebee card.

For the base I used a piece of orange card, then decided to use some of my long, long, long discontinued Basic Grey patterned paper, which had the perfect colors for my Fall scheme.  I used one pattern to layer on the base, then another for the vertical strip that was layered on a larger strip of Cinnamon Cider card.  Once the base was complete a small embossed rectangle was adhere to the focal image then it was all popped on the base with foam tape.  Since I don't normally use much patterned paper, I was very pleased with myself to make an effort to utilize some of my ancient stash LOL!

Thanks so much for visiting, I always appreciate it!  Have a great weekend and please check back with me on Sunday when I'll have my new DT card for The Paper Players.

Thanks, Gnomie for the Paper Players

Hello and welcome back!  I hope you're remaining safe and healthy.  It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  This week the amazing Joanne is hosting our color challenge with some lovely colors.

I've used one of Julee's fabulous Mojo Monday sketches for my card design.

I'm also joining the current  Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where we are to use our favorite tool.  One of my favorite tools is my die cutting machine.

I had some fun with these colors using the Chillin' Gnomes stamp set from Simon Says Stamp (ETA I originally wrote they were from MFT but realized my error after this post went live.  Sorry for any confusion!).  I love my floral images, for which these colors would have worked beautifully, but I wanted to play some more with this fun stamp set.

I began by stamping and coloring up our cute gnomie girl.  I gave her blonde hair that is almost a light version of Mango Melody hee hee.  I used a neutral brown to ground her and the flower, then die cut both it and the larger mango circles.  The sentiment was stamped on a separate scrap of white card and trimmed down.  It's actually all in one line but I cut it in two so it would fit better on the circle.

Next a panel of Pool Party card was stamped with a large floral background stamp using Versamark to keep it subtle.  Because that paper is only #80, I adhered it to a sturdy #110 base of Neenah Solar White, which I use for most of my card bases.  The horizontal strip of Navy was punched with a scallop punch, layered on the base, then topped with a vertical strip of white woodgrain paper.  The main image was added using foam tape and I was done!

Thanks for visiting, I always appreciate it so much!  Be sure to use the link to the challenge above and also check out all the DT members linked below!
