Very Best Wishes

Hello friends!  Today I have a very CAS fall card to share with you.  It's one I made for the autumn themed challenge at The Paper Players using the colors from the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge.

This card came together quickly - that's the beauty of making a CAS card, right?

I began by die cutting an A2 panel of white with the Folk Edge Rectangle die, then I put it in my Misti stamp positioner and stamped the sentiment and floral spray with a Copic friendly ink, the proceeded to color with markers similar to the CC&S challenge colors.

I know the leaves are turning but we still do have some bushes with green leaves so that's why I decided to color the leaves the Shaded Spruce color.  After the coloring was complete I put the panel back in the Misti and restamped it with a brown pigment ink for a sharper image and sentiment.  The panel was adhered to a white A2 base, then I added shimmer to the berries, then covered them with Glossy Accents for a bit of sparkle and shine, which you can see better in the photo below.

Thanks for taking time to stop by, I appreciate it.

Take care!

Stef

Born to Sparkle

Hello and welcome!  I have a card to share that I made for the current challenge at Double D, where the them is to use lots of white.  I'm also sharing at CAS Colours & Sketches, where they are celebrating their 450th challenge, with the theme of using either a sketch or color challenge from the last 11 months and create a seasonal card with it.  That last part...I kind of stretched the meaning of "seasonal" in that while my card has lots of sparkle and white (just like the snowy landscape outside my window!), it's not specifically a holiday or winter card.  So we'll see if the blog monitors are feeling kind lol!

I choose the sketch from challenge #425 as the inspiration for my card design.

I ended up making a slimline size shaker card, neither of which I've created for a while.

For starters, I used the Slimline Stitched Circle die from MFT to create the panel for the shaker elements.  It was trimmed down, then I added a strip of acetate to the back of the panel, adhered foam tape to create the shaker "wells" and put in clear sequins, then added the aqua panel to the back.

Next, the circular floral frames were die cut once from white glitter and twice from plain white cardstock, then layered up for some nice dimension and adhered to the front of the panel.  Next I used a slimline sized cover plate to create a subtle background layer, adhered it to the white card base, then added the shaker element.  The sentiment was trimmed out from a set of encouragement sentiment strips and adhered with thin foam tape.  Lastly, a few additional clear and aqua sequins were added to the card front for a bit more bling.

Thanks so much for taking time to stop by, I really appreciate it!  Take care and have a safe, happy New Year!

Gnome for the Holidays

Hello and welcome! I'm sharing a fun card that I made for a couple of challenges - Joanne's fabulous sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches and using the festive color duo at Color Hues.

I haven't joined either of these challenges for quite a while, especially since I seem to keep running out of week and now Christmas is nearing rapidly.  But these both worked beautifully for using a fun gnome that I got last year.

I love this CAS design, although putting together all the fiddly little die cut pieces on the gnome's hat were anything but simple lol!  I die cut his robe from Matte Gold cardstock and the hat from the same and also from Matte Silver cardstock.  The rest (the base, solid hat, nose, mustache and beard) were cut from white.  I used Copic markers to color his nose, mustache and beard then adhered all the pieces to the base.  The hat pieces are actually adhered to a solid hat, then added to the base.

Next a panel of white was die cut with the mini-slimline rectangle die that put a nice design around the edges.  The sentiment was gold heat embossed, then the panel layered on 3 slightly smaller pieces of scrap cardstock and adhered to the white card base.  Our fancy gnome was adhered directly to the panel and I was going to leave it at that, but decided a few baubles were in order so they were added as the final touch.  I LOVE how this turned out, that gnome was definitely worth the time and effort!

Thanks for taking time to stop by, I appreciate it.  Enjoy the remainder of your weekend and take care!

Wreath Birthday Wishes

Hello, my friends!  I hope you're continuing to stay safe and healthy.  Today I'm sharing a card made for four challenges-Seize the Birthday and Inkspirational Challenges, where the theme is hearts, Addicted to Stamps, where the theme is birthdays, and CAS Colours & Sketches, with a great sketch upon which I based my card design.

I used a heart shaped wreath to make a CAS birthday card.

The wreath was stamped on white cardstock then colored with Copic markers.  After it was die cut I used a gold glitter watercolor paint to color the berries on the wreath.  While the paint dried, the sentiment was gold heat embossed on a piece of vellum which was die cut with a label sentiment die.

The base is heavy weight white card stock upon which I layered a panel of gold mirror.  A panel of white was cut with the Dotted Scales Debossing cover die then trimmed down and adhered to the gold layer.  The sentiment strip was added to the wreath by adding glue behind the letters in the sentiment that covered part of the wreath.  I then added foam tape to the back of the wreath, which was pretty fiddly but worth it for the dimension.  After that was popped up on the card, the final touch was to adhere a few gold sparkle crystals.

Thanks for visiting, I appreciate it so much!  Take care and have a great weekend!

Wisteria Birthday

Welcome friends!  I've had a fun week playing along with lots of challenges, and this is my 2nd post for today.  For this card I used the great sketch from the current CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge.  I'm also joining Seize the Birthday with my "anything goes" entry and the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where this week's theme is "anything goes".

I was doing a little search through all my 6x6 paper pads yesterday for use in a different challenge and I found a wonderful pad from Basic Grey (one of a few I still have).  It came out in 2008 and I think I bought it within a year or two of that.  BG is no longer in business so I feel very fortunate to still have some of their beautiful patterned papers to create with.

I thought the Wisteria flowers hanging from a branch followed the sketch almost perfectly, if you flip it.  The colors are so soft and pretty, it really doesn't demand much else to finish a card.  I used an A2 sized deckled rectangle die to cut the patterned paper along with a piece of white card stock and I adhered them together for stability so the panel could be added to the card base with foam tape. The card base ended up being 4.5"x 5.75" so there could be a nice white border around the patterned paper panel.

The sentiment was die cut from white card stock three times and adhered together before adding to the card front.  A tiny pearl was used for the tiddle over the letter "i", then a few more added to dress things up.  And that finished my card.  Pretty quick and easy when you let the paper be the star of the card!

Thanks for visiting, I always appreciate it so much!  I hope you're continuing to stay safe and healthy!

Take care.
