Bee You

Hello friends and welcome back!  Today I'm sharing a fun little card that I made for LeAnne's fun CAS challenge over at the Paper Players.

I received a free gift with purchase from the Colorado Craft Company that I have been dying to use and this is the perfect opportunity.

That ever-so-cute bee landing on the flower is an Anita Jeram illustration and so fun and easy to color using my Copic markers.  After coloring, it was cut down with an Essential Arches die, then I lined it up in my Misti to stamp to get good placement of the sentiment.  The next size larger arch die was used to cut a piece of white cardstock then I colored around the edges with one of the markers used to color the flower so it could be all nice and matchy-matchy, because I didn't have any colored cardstock closed enough in color.

I fiddled around for what seemed like ages, trying to decide on the placement of the main image.  I landed on the idea of a trimmed down embossed panel that looks like a honeycomb, wrapped it with some Baker's Twine and added it to the white card base with thin foam squares.  I ended up preferring the lower corner placement of the main image, so I added it to the card, also with thin foam squares.  I love CAS but I also love a wee bit of dimension as well.  Lastly, the wings of the bee were painted with an aqua shimmer pen for a little sparkle.

Thanks for taking time to visit, I appreciate it!  Take care and enjoy the coming weekend!

This is so cute Stef! I love the pops of pink and the subtle geometric honeycomb background (this would be a great card for the Addicted to CAS challenge this week too!) Lovely to see you in the Paper Players gallery as always!
