Favorite Things for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends!  Mid-month has rolled around and which brings our reminder post at The Flower Challenge.  This month we're asking you to add a heart, along with your florals being the primary focus.
I'm also playing along with Seize the Birthday, entering my card for the Anything Goes portion of the challenge and Inkspirational, where the theme is hearts.

For my card, I decided to use the eclipse technique (at least that is the name that I'm familiar with) to add a heart to my card.

Originally I had intended to stamp, color and die cut the floral image and use a heart underneath on my card front.  However, I had laid out the stamped image on my desk along with the heart die and the light bulb went off, so to speak lol!  So I proceeded with the coloring using Copic markers , then trimmed down the panel and die cut the heart from the middle, along with three additional layers.

After embossing an A2 panel of light yellow cardstock with the Gina K Tapestry folder, the die cut panel was adhered, then the layered heart added back into the die cut space.  The sentiment was added then I searched my embellishments for some gems or sequins that might come close to the flower color and was pleasantly surprised to find some.  Last but not least a pretty die cut butterfly as added and finished off my card.

How will you find a way to add a heart to your floral card?  You can certainly find more inspiration on the challenge blog, where my teammates have created some gorgeous cards.  The challenge will remain open until the 25th - hope to see your card in the gallery!

Take care!

Stef

This is so pretty, Stef! Of course, the floral is gorgeous as you colored it but the butterfly balances the card off nicely as well. I was tickled to see you in the gallery at Seize the Birthday! Thanks for linking up!

What a great way to use the eclipse technique. I love that subtle heart in the background, it's making just the right impact. The flowers are gorgeously colored, by the way. Thank you so much for joining the Seize the Birthday challenge with this charming card!

That's a lovely subtle way to add a heart so that your gorgeous floral takes centre stage Stef! Beautiful colours as always - love the lemon base with those deep blue flowers. Vicky x

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL card Stef! I love the eclipse technique, but am always so nervous when I go to cut into something I've spent time on coloring and hoping I don't ruin it! Yours sure worked out beautifully though and I love the embossing on the card base too...lovely, lovely card my friend! Hugs. :0)
