Treasure

Hi there friends, I hope you're having a good weekend.  I decided to make Valentines not only for my grands, but also to 3 dear friends, just to let them know how much they mean to me, and this card is for one of them.  I used the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for my design inspiration, and this card came together quickly.

After searching my stash I found some pretty patterned paper from Pebbles, which either had Valentine's Day images or colors you would associate with the day.  I found one with pink and red roses, die cut it with a stitched rectangle die and added it to the card base with craft foam.

I found a scrap from the same papers with X's and O's on it, trimmed it down and added it to the back of a heart die cut from red card stock.  I heat embossed the sentiment on Slate card stock, then die cut it to layer on top of the heart.  Added a few jewels, and the card was done!  I was really struck by how fun it was to have things come together so quickly; most of my cards involve coloring so the time spent for each card is much longer.  But it's good to change things up and the great FMS sketches are a great place to get inspired.

Thanks for visiting, it's always so appreciated!  I've added a link to the challenge above, so I encourage you to go and check it out.

I'll be back tomorrow night with my DT sample for the current Color Challenge at Splitcoaststampers, so I hope you'll come back and visit!

Stef
