Hello again! I'm back with a card for the current challenge at Just Us Girls, where the theme this week is to use emboss resist. I love using emboss resist with ink blending, so that's what I did for my card.
I recently acquired the Deco Heart dies from Simon Says Stamp, which is a companion piece to the Center Cut Heart background released last year. One cuts the heart shape, the other creates a filigree design that fits inside. I made my very first shaker card with it here, which was a Valentine's Day card, and decided to make this one a birthday card, with the heart offset from the center and in different colors.
The background stamp was heat set with silver embossing powder on Bristol paper, the heart die cut , then Distress Inks in Dried Marigold and Abandoned Coral were used to ink blend the panel. Next I took a panel of Calypso Coral card stock and sprayed it with shimmer spray. Once dry it was trimmed down and adhered to the back of my shaker window created with a piece of acetate on the backside of the embossed panel. The sentiment was also heat embossed onto a strip of the leftover coral card stock and die cut with a label die. Before it was added, the silver foil die cut was adhered to the front of the acetate.
The interior of the shaker was filled with iridescent jewels and sparkling clear sequins. I used a double layer of foam tape around it so make sure everything would shake freely.
Thanks so much for visiting, it's always so appreciated! I've added a link to the challenge above, so be sure to check it out!
Stef

Beautiful card. Love the silver embossing and the pretty heart shaker element.
Me TOO! This pretty set just became a part of my stash and I couldn't love it more and your gorgeous card is making me just want to play with it! Soooo pretty how you've turned the center into a shaker and the ink blending is a great touch! Love it!
