Hugs & Kisses

Hi there!  It's time for a new Color Challenge at Splitcoaststampers!  This week Pam is hosting and she has chosen the lovely combination of Powder Pink, Real Red and Silver, with a dessert option of hearts, all perfect for getting those Valentine cards ready to go!

I'm also joining the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where the theme is to use something new.  Last month I acquired the new Deco Heart dies (an outline die and a detail filigree die) from SSS that coordinates with the Center Cut Heart background stamp that came out last year, both of which I'm using on my card.

I began by stamping and heat embossing in silver the Center Cut background stamp on Koh-I-Noor Bristol paper, then die cut the heart outline image.  Next Tattered Rose Distress Ink was blended over the entire panel, darker at the edges then lighter towards the middle, followed by Candied Apple in the same method.  I adhered a piece of acetate behind the opening with the intent to make my very first shaker card!

The background of the shaker is a piece of Real Red card stock heavily sprayed with shimmer spray and the shaker itself was filled with iridescent jewels.  The silver filigree was die cut with the detail heart die from Silver Foil card stock and adhered on top of the acetate.  Foam tape was used to mount the entire panel onto a white card base, then the white heat embossed sentiment added to the card front, also with foam tape.

Thanks so much for visiting, it's always so appreciated!  Be sure to use the links above to check out both challenges and I do hope you'll join us for the SCS Color Challenge this week!

Stef
