Falling Leaves for Sunday Stamps

Hi there and welcome back!  It's Sunday, which means it's time for a new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  This week we have a beautiful color board, with luscious autumn colors, to inspire you.

I'm also joining the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where the current theme is Anything Goes.

For my card, I was inspired by both the colors and the image of the multicolored leaves on the SSC board, so this is what I came up with...

I started with a panel of Bristol paper and used the fabulous Falling Leaves layering stencil.  It has 5 stencils with different leaf images, along with the berries and acorns, which allows you to ink blend individual images without having to mask off those around them.  They worked great, although I still managed to add unwanted ink blending here and there, but I was fine with that, I wasn't after perfection. After the stenciling was complete, the panel was splattered with leftover ink and pearl acrylic paint, which acted to give it more of a water colored, messy look.  Once the panel dried, it was cut with a deckle rectangle die, then gold embossing powder was heat embossed around all the edges.

To put the card together I started with an Ivory base, then added a pumpkin panel also die cut with a deckle rectangle die.  The sentiment was heat embossed with gold embossing powder, cut with a deckle oval die then it too was edged with heat embossed gold embossing.  After wrapping the panel with linen thread, with was added to the card base with foam tape, as was the sentiment to the front with gold die cut foliage and that finished things off!

Thanks so much for visiting, I really appreciate it!  I've link the challenge above, so be sure to head over there to check out all the beautiful creations by the other DT members and hopefully play along with us!
