Hi again! It's Monday night and I'm sharing the card I made with this week's colors for the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge. Our Hostess, Karen, has chosen a beautiful combination - Blackberry Bliss, Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky and Pear Pizzazz. I LOVE the dark purple together with the lightest of blues, so I was very happy with this combination. I had to pass on "Dessert" this week - to use sequins - because I ended up using pearls instead.
I also used the current Splitcoaststampers sketch challenge for the card layout. This is an awesome layout with so many options.
The Challenge colors just screamed flowers to me, so that's the direction I went (never mind that's my default for most cards LOL!) I pulled out the Awesomely Artistic stamp set, stamped the flower image and colored it with ink and a Blender Pen. After the flowers and leaves were colored, the image was fussy cut with my paper snips and popped up on layered circles of Whisper White and Wisteria Wonder.
A Woodgrain Textured Impression Embossing Folder gave the Soft Sky panel some nice texture. It was then topped with a Blackberry Bliss horizontal band that had been cut with the Eyelet Border punch. After wrapping a piece of Soft Sky ribbon around the panel, the sentiment was stamped and cut out with a tag framelit, and attached with a bit of White Baker's Twine.
When coloring the flowers, the centers were colored in the same color. I added some Clear Wink of Stella to give the centers a bit of pop, but it really didn't do what I wanted, so I ended up adding the tiny Pearls to the flower centers instead.
That's it for tonight. Thanks so much for visiting - it's always appreciated! Plus I would love to hear from you if you have a moment to leave a comment. Do be sure and use the links above to check out the wonderful inspiration at both challenges, and join in too!
Hugs,
Stef
