Petal Botanicals

Happy New Year and welcome back!  I hope you had a fun time last night!  Kevin and I stayed home, ringing in the New Year at midnight after an evening of football and movies.  Good times!

Of course I also found time this week to make a card for the current sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts.

The sentiment is from Botanicals For You, available free during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 or more purchase, beginning next Tuesday.  I love this big, bold font that makes it the main image for the card.

Starting with a base of Calypso Coral, it was layered with a slightly smaller piece of Pretty Petals designer series paper. After stamping the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black, flowers and fronds from the same stamp set were stamped around the sentiment in Calypso Coral and Mint Macaron.  I kind of fiddled around with different things to use for the circle and ended up layering a Metallic Foil Doily over a circle of Basic Black card stock punched out with the 1 3/4" Circle punch. The butterfly was popped out of Calypso Coral card stock with the Bitty Butterfly punch, adhered to the circle, then topped with a Gold Baker's Twine bow.  Finally I added Gold Metallic Sequins and a touch of Gold Wink of Stella in the centers of the little flowers.

Thanks for taking time to visit out of your day to visit!  I hope you'll use the link above and visit PPA for all the wonderful inspiration.

Hugs,

Stef
