Primrose Sympathy

Hard to believe it's been almost a week since I posted a card!  The one I have today is a sympathy card for a friend who just lost her mother - especially difficult this time of year.

This week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches seemed perfect for the stamp set I wanted to use, Inspired By Nature. The stamp was colored with Stampin' Up markers then misted with water before stamping the card stock.  It didn't get sprayed uniformly, so the watercolor look isn't even, but I love how it turned out anyway.

Here's the sketch:

The card size had to be increase to 5 x 7 to accommodate this large stamp.  The base is Early Espresso, which was then covered with a layer of Tea for Two designer paper.

The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped in the upper left corner and a little butterfly from Papillon Potpourri popped up underneath it, with a larger one from the same set in the lower right corner.

Thanks for dropping by and taking a look!  I should have another card to post in the next couple of days.  Hope the rest of your weekend is great!

Hugs,

Stef

This is really beautiful, Stef. I never would've thought to use a bold-patterned DSP on a sympathy card, but it really works; the colours you've used are uplifting and so pretty.

I see what you mean about the misting but I just think that adds to the watercolor look. It's beautiful!
