Racing Towards Another Birthday

Happy Saturday!  I can't believe how fast the weekends fly by.  I spent a couple hours this morning making a birthday card for a dear friend of my husband and mine who is having a birthday next Tuesday.  He loves cars and antique objects, so I dug out this image from some paper I purchased a couple years ago at the local stamp and stationery store.

Isn't that a great image?  I love the sense of speed the picture conveys, which is also why it is perfect for our friend, because he's a bit on the "zoomy" side as a driver LOL!!  Never dangerous, it's just that his whole persona is fast movement and that includes his driving.

Here's the card:

The sketch is from the Seize the Birthday challenge blog.  There is a new sketch every two weeks, with a weekly challenge, the first week for a feminine birthday, the following week for a masculine birthday.  Here's a link if you want to play along:  http://seizethebirthday.blogspot.com/

The bottle cap was squished in my big shot and used to hold the sentiment.  After I put everything together on the front I thought it needed some added interest, so the photo corner piece was added with the brads from Vintage Trinkets.

Thanks so much for coming by!

Hugs,

Stef

What a great card for your friend, Stef. I love all the antiquing and distressing you've done - a perfect 'guy' card.
