I'm also joining the current Simon Says Stamp challenge to use our favorite tools.  One of my cannot-do-without tools is my die cutting machine, which I used to create much of my card today.

I love all those pretty colors for our color challenge but had a hard time deciding what to make, so when in doubt I seem to fall back to ink blending with Distress Inks.  I used a combination of purples and a dark blue on a panel of Bristol.  It was splattered with clear water then Liquid Pixie Dust for some sparkle and when dry was die cut with the Elegant Rectangle.

Next came the die cut Leafy Branch.  It's such a delicate die cut, I found I had the best results using 110# card.  It was cut three times from white card, layered up and adhered to the rectangle, leaving out the leaf interiors.  It was then cut one more time from pearlescent vellum, the leaves inlayed, then the vellum branch layered on top.  It was rather fiddly to do but I love the end result.

The die cut sentiment received similar treatment, white card cut three times.  The top layer was added after die cutting from the remains of the ink blended panel, then added to the ink blended panel.  After adhering the panel to the navy card base with foam tape, I added a few jewels and used a shimmer pen to go over the sentiment.  Hard to see above but lots of sparkle!

As always, your visit is so appreciated!  Be sure to use the link above to check out the beautiful creations by the other team members and hopefully join us for this challenge!
