Celebrating YOU, Time Out Challenges!

Hello friends!  Today's post is very, very special because Time Out Challenges is celebrating their 12th birthday!  Woot woot!  And I am truly honored to join in as the muse for their Case the Designer challenge as part of the birthday celebration.

Time Out Challenges was started 12 years ago by Sandie Munro and Nonni Niskanen who love to take "time out" to craft and have others join them.  The challenge has continued to have wonderfully creative challenges all these years, along with amazing design team members.

I had to spend some time thinking about what type of card to make for everyone to CASE.  I love a variety of styles, but I decided to use the elements I love the most - Copic/OLO coloring, florals (especially BIG florals lol!), embossing, text (although it's hard to see on the kraft cardstock), a minor bit of distressing, splatter and having a metallic in some fashion. Hopefully that gives everyone lots of design options. Here's what I ended up with...

One of my favorite flowers is a peony, so that's what I chose for the floral image.  I used a combination of Olo and Copic markers to color it, and because I'd left the stamp in my positioner, I was able to stamp it a second time and gold heat emboss it, along with the sentiment.  This image is quite large, so my card size ended up being 4.5" x 6" because I didn't have the heart to chop off any of it lol!

I cut a kraft panel to fit the card base, then used a text background stamp before distressing around the edges.  The next layer is a piece of embossed watercolor paper, and I used an Old Paper Distress ink pad to lightly swipe across the raised areas, then distressed it as well.  Splatter was added in gold and white, then I used hemp twine to create a bow.

The last step was to add the flowers and sentiment with thin foam tape.

Thanks to Stephanie and the rest of the design team for offering me the privilege of celebrating along with you!

I hope you'll join in the celebration with your CASE and have a chance to win a $25 store credit to Waffle Flower!

Thanks for visiting and take care!
