OCC Winter Post

Hi there crafty friends!  I'm back with yet another card for the Merry Making class at Online Card Classes.  This technique was from Cathy Zielske on Day 1.  I've done a number of posts recently with cards for these classes (and will have at least two more to share in the next few days) so thanks for sticking in there with me.  Here is a link to the first post with a bit more information and link to the OCC home page.

For this card, I created a ink blended background with three different green Distress inks going from light to dark, splattered the panel with water and dried with a paper towel, then flicked with gold metallic watercolor paint.  Next a panel of white card stock was cut with the Polygon Cover plate die, painted with Clear Wink of Stella, then adhered to the dried ink blended panel, then the entire thing was added to a Mint card base.

For the tag, the beautiful stag image was first heat set with gold embossing powder and die cut with a Banners framelit.  A hole was punched at the top with a hand held 1/8" punch, then two strands of Gold Cord was laced through.  The sentiment was added across the bottom and gold sequins were adhered.  This is a pretty simple card, the hardest part was making sure to line up and adhere the cover plate die to the ink blended panel.

Thanks for looking and be sure to check back in the next few days for some more Merry Making cards!

This is STUNNING!! I love the ombre background in the green and the flicker of gold. The addition of that tag in the front is amazing!
