I started with an image that had already been stamped with Black Stazon on water color paper with one of the stamps from Simply Sketched. I realize the coloring doesn't even closely represent a bird in the wild but is merely a representative image LOL!! There is actually a lovely Tanager found in Central America that is a similar color (at least in my North American bird book) but it has black on its wings.
After water coloring the image I cut it out with a Circle framelit and mounted it on the next size larger framelit cut from Crisp Cantaloupe. Both were then adhered to one of the Floral Frames Collection framelits and popped up on dimensionals over the Smoky Slate ribbon (ooo, I so love how nicely this ribbon ties!!)
The Smoky Slate card stock was stamped with ink of the same color using the leaf and berry image from the Simply Sketched stamp set. I love how delicate that image is. I opted to wait until I use the card to put a sentiment on the inside. It really could be used for a number of occasions. Unusual for me, I did not add any other embellishments. I really like the simplicity of the card as is.
Thanks for stopping by today! I may have another post to share later for a card I made for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, so check back if you have time. In the meantime, if you have a moment to leave a comment, I would love to hear from you.
Hugs,
Stef

Stef, I liked your card so much that I cased it and made two of them! I used a Cantaloupe card base and used Pear cardstock, ink and ribbon where you used Smoky Slate. Thanks for your inspiration!

Beautiful card! Love the soft grey background that you've stamped, and that bright focal point looks so striking against it! Thanks for playing along with the Friday Mashup this week!
