Hello friends! It's time for a new challenge at the Paper Players and this week I am hosting. It's our CAS challenge, were we want to see limited layers and embellishments plus plenty of "white" space. In addition, we're making birthday cards with balloons (or balloon).
For today's card I brought out a previously unused stamp and die set along with an unused background stamp, so I'll also be linking up with Darnell's Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (NBUS) challenge.
I'm also sharing my card over at Seize the Birthday, where Glenda has chosen a topping of CAS with Dies.
All the images in the stamp set are so cute but only one had a balloon, so that's what I used for today's card.
Isn't that little tiger so cute? I used Copic and Olo markers to color everything, then die cut the tiger and the sentiments, which are from the same set. I then used a white gel pen to make some highlights and also add some white fur around the ears, head, tail and feet. You can see it better in the larger photo below.
For the background, I used two colors of blue ink and blended them right on the front of the white card base. I then used white pigment ink and stamped a large birthday text background stamp onto it. The white pretty much absorbed the ink color, and it came out quite subtle, which is what I was going for. After drying it with my heat tool, the little tiger and sentiments were adhered after layering them on a couple of additional die cuts.
What do you have in mind for this challenge? Before you head off to your crafty space, be sure to pop over to the challenge blog for some amazing inspiration by the rest of the design team. The challenge will remain open until Friday February 20th at 3pm EDT. I hope you'll be able to join us!

Stef, this is so fun! I love that fun little tiger and as always your coloring is amazing! The white text is such a great addition and adds so much detail. The sentiment is bold and just pops off the blue background. Have a wonderful week, My Friend!
You have such an eye for adding subtle details and/or white or shading details that take your designs to the next level, Stef! I always learn something. (If only it would stick!) Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS with this darling tiger card! Hugs, Darnell
Stef this cute tiger with his balloon is adorable! Beautifully coloured with realistic fur detail and I love that background - such a great idea (must try and remember to use that!) The bright and cheery colours of your card are guaranteed to raise a birthday smile - such a fun challenge this week!
Awww, he is a little cutie and your card is adorable!
What a stunner! I think I'd love to look through your stamp collection because you keep coming out with real beauties. The addition of the extra detailing with the white pen steps things up again. Great embossing folder too. Enjoy your week. :-)
This is indeed the cutest tiger cub ever, Stef! Your coloring is perfect as always. I like how the image "pops" against the blue background. I love a card that makes me smile, and this one certainly does. Thank you for the fun challenge. Have a wonderful week!
He is a real cutie, and colored perfectly! I love how your background is really simple, but sponged and stamped the way you did added some fun dimension!
That little tiger could not be any cuter! I love how the orange pops against the blue background and you've colored him to perfection!
This is the cutest, Stef! You motivated me to make a card today and play along! HUGS!
I had to go look at the whole set because this baby Tigger is adorable! Perfect coloring, as always, and I really love the soft script in the background. Thanks for playing with Seize the Birthday Stef!!!
