As you can tell from the title of my post, I definitely went for a fall scene and used a sweet Bundle girl from Stamping Bella.
The scene was stamped, then before coloring with my Copics, the sky was stenciled using a light orange ink and a cloud stencil. I completed the coloring, stamped the sentiment and die cut the panel with a rectangle die. The panel was then added to a green matte that was barely larger than the colored panel.
I added that to the card base, then as I was photographing it, I wondered to myself, where is all the green? Frankly, there wasn't much because I opted to color the little girl's outfit in brown rather than green, and the leaves and the mat didn't provide much. I think I lost my mind for a short time while creating this card lol! Anybody else have those days?
A plaid cover die to the rescue! It was cut with a Tim Holtz cover die, adhered to the card base, then the main image was added to finish the card. Finally!
Thanks for taking time to stop by! I encourage you to pop over to the challenge blog where my very talented teammates have a variety of card design using these colors. The challenge remains open until Sunday, 9/14 at 3pm EDT. I hope to see your card in the gallery!

Such an adorable card, Steph!! Love your colouring and the beautiful framing! xx
Look at her with that big ol' pumpkin! Gosh this is cute, Stef!
The green plaid does the trick for the green and your colored image is perfect as is! Awesome coloring, Stef!
You've breathed wonderful life into this image with your fabulous colouring. The orange clouds add to the impact. Gorgeous...absolutely!
hugs~carol
Adorable Stef and we have all had days like that I can assure you! Well rescued with the die cut background, I would never have known it wasn't your intention in the first place! :)
Yes, I have days like this and in fact the same thing happened with my card this week. I didn't have very much green with just the dies, so that is where my neon green background came from. As for your darling scene... The depth you can achieve while coloring is remarkable. I always get lost in your coloring and find myself looking at every square inch. Wonderful job, Stef!
This might be one of the cutest fall cards I've seen. That little one is just adorable, and your coloring always blows me away! And, yes, I've been sent back to the crafting desk more than once after photographing a card. You found the perfect solution to your problem.
Great save with the cover plate die Stef to add more green! Your card is absolutely ADORABLE and as always, colored beautifully!! Such a sweet image...I'm smitten!! Hugs. :0)
Work of art Stef!!
Stef your sweet little Stamping Bella is coloured so wonderfully, you are so talented! I have done that so many times I'll start colouring and then I'm like wait, I'm not using the right colours for the challenge! Ha ha ha, we all do it!
