Hi there and welcome back! Tonight I'm sharing a card made for the current challenge at The Paper Players. Joanne has given us this wonderful sketch to play with and I was happy to get my card done in time before tomorrow's noon deadline!
And here's my card:
The large oval in the sketch was perfect for the sweet Winter Cottage image, which I stamped in Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink and heat set with clear embossing powder. I used masking fluid to create a horizon of "snow" and when it dried, put a light wash of blue ink in the sky. Next Clear Wink of Stella was brushed across the snowy landscape and the roof of the cottage, then the entire image was splattered with some White Gouache to create the effect of falling snow and set aside to dry while I worked on the card base.
One of the designs from Wood Textures designer series paper stack was trimmed down, adhered to a panel of Early Espresso card stock and wrapped with Linen Thread. Before tying on the white die cut branches with a separate piece of Linen Thread, the branches were brushed with Clear Wink of Stella, and the berries colored with the Wink of Stella pen dipped in Festive Berries ink. The finished panel was then mounted on the white card base with foam tape.
The cottage scene was die cut and mounted on a Crumb Cake oval, popped up and added to the base with foam tape. I searched around for something to use for the small circle in the sketch and found some long retired SU wood snowflakes, one of which was added with Mini Dimensionals. I intentionally did not add a sentiment as I wanted the option of either using this as a Christmas card or for a relative's upcoming birthday and will add one in the interior when it's used.
Thanks so much for visiting and commenting, I always appreciate it so much! Please be sure to use the link to the challenge above and enjoy all the beautiful inspiration!

SO sweet....I just love this little image (reminds me I haven't used it lately!) and it looks great with that DSP, which I find hard to use! Your embellishments are darling as well! Thank you for sharing this with us at the Paper Players this week!
So warm and cozy! Such a lovely stamp with that wood paper!! Thanks for playing with The Paper Players.
What a great stamp and paper combo Stef - they work so well together and I too find this paper tricky to use sometimes! Love the addition of the wooden snowflake too. Thanks for joining in with my sketch challenge over at The Paper Players this week!
