Hello again! Today I have a card that uses a mix of new and retired Stampin' Up! products. It was made to let someone know how much I appreciate them. It also gave me the opportunity to use my new Flourish Thinlits again.
I was taking inventory of all my designer series paper that could be used for fall occasion and holiday cards, and came upon this lovely piece of long-retired wood grain design. The colors include Taken With Teal, More Mustard (both retired) and Chocolate Chip. I still have quite a bit of More Mustard card stock because, until Delightful Dijon arrived as a new In Color, SU really didn't have any nice dark golden yellows in its color palette. The flourish flower and leaf stem were cut from More Mustard and Vellum, respectively, and adhered to the dsp. Next, another element from the Flourish Thinlit dies, cut from Chocolate Chip card stock, was layered horizontally and covered with a piece of retired crochet trim.
The entire panel was wrapped with Linen Thread, then topped with a bow, button and sentiment tag. The sweet sentiment is one of the reasons I have held onto the retired Happy Home stamp set. I didn't have any Taken with Teal ink, so after testing a variety of colors, I ended up substituting Tempting Turquoise.
I'm entering this into a couple of card challenges. I've used the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and also joining Just Add Ink where the challenge is to "Just Add F" (JAI 323). The "F" for my card are the flourishes.
