Hi there and happy Saturday! It's a cold, rainy March 1st but signs of spring are already appearing. Yeah!!
In contrast to the gloomy Pacific NW weather, my card is nice and bright in color. A friend at work asked me to make a couple of birthday cards for her and this is one of them.
Growing up my Dad fancied himself as quite the joker (mostly his jokes made us groan LOL!), but puns still always make me giggle. When I pulled out the designer paper with the cameras, I couldn't resist using the Oh Snap! sentiment from Hip Notes.
I love the new little wood embellishments too, I think they will be so versatile to use, with ink or paper pieced, or as in this case, stamped with a sentiment. I tried stamping the arrow with Basic Gray ink but it was too smeary, so I pulled out Stone Gray Stazon (non-SU) and the alcohol ink worked much better.
The piece of Real Red card stock was converted to a tag with the fabulous Scallop Tag Topper punch, and a piece of retired So Saffron grosgrain ribbon slipped through the hole and tied up with Pool Party Baker's Twine. A sentiment also stamped in the "contraband" ink was popped up on top, and along with some candy dots, completed the card.
That's all I have for the time being. Now I get to go take care of some household chores...and maybe some stamping! I appreciate your visit and hope you'll take a moment to leave me a comment - I always enjoy hearing from you!
Hugs,
Stef
